Surbiton Congestion Relief Scheme Complete

On 17th May, Ed Davy MP and members of Kingston Council joined Network Rail to officially open the newly completed upgrade of the iconic and Grade II listed Surbiton Station in southwest London. The upgrade works were carried out as part of the £6.7m congestion relief programme at the station which included an additional 8 ticket gatelines, a new deck added to the existing footbridge at the London end of platforms 3 and 4 and a new connecting staircase.

With the expected reduction in overcrowding and improvements to passenger safety, passenger journeys at the station should now be up to 31% faster.

Fereday Pollard are delighted to have played a key part in the remodelling of the station and in developing the scheme through the approval gateways with the wider design team and onto the delivery stages with Octavius Infrastructure
