Thames Tideway Tunnel

Twenty four highly prominent new surface sites along the route of London's famous River Thames form the only visible aspect of this visionary and complex engineering project. With a range of uses and designs, the sites and the structures on them form a key part of London's new urban landscape and public realm

Lower Thames Crossing

Working in the same capacity as we have for the past 15 years on Thames Tideway Tunnel, we were appointed by the multi disciplinary CASCADE design team (the partnership of Jacobs, COWI and Arcadis) as lead architects in 2017 on the multi billion pound Lower Thames Crossing to develop all visible surface elements of the 23km long highway up to DCO submission and main works tender.

HS2

Ongoing design development of the surface infrastructure and landscaping to support the London to Birmingham route.

Reservoir Design

Masterplanning of two major new reservoirs – one in Cambridgeshire and one in Lincolnshire - to address extreme water scarcity in the South East of England and maximise their benefits and for local communities.

Silvertown Tunnel

Masterplan of the area around the new tunnel linking Greenwich and Silvertown in south east London, including the architectural and landscaping design of the visible parts of the new tunnel including the operational buildings, the portals, tunnel linings and public realm to support the DCO submission.

Snowdonia VIP

Fereday Pollard have been developing reference designs for two new head houses associated with a new cable tunnel which will enable a section of overhead cables to be removed from Snowdonia National Park and the adjacent estuary

Operational Building Complex

Operational and signalling building or 'nerve centre' in New Cross, south east London housing the vastly complex functional services that allow the line to work.

Bridgwater Flood Defence Barrier

The signing of a Transport and Works Act Order provides permission for construction to go ahead of this new tidal barrier in Somerset. The proposals for the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier Scheme have been developed, from an early stage, to minimise adverse impacts on the environment, land use, use of the river and the local community.

National Grid

A decade long involvement on National Grid’s London recabling programme saw us working with a multitude of specialist consultants and contractors on both LPT1 and LPT2 legs of their vast subterranean tunnel around both west and east London.
